Sept. 2011 through Spring 2012 (as long as funds last) we are offering FREE Spay / Neuter for Community Cats in traps thanks to a grant from ASPCA.  Email or call for details.

Our last four (June 2011 - April 2012) Cat Food Drives were very successful!  Thank you for your donations!  Our next cat food drive is May 7 through May 19 at Harriet's Flower Shop, 226 W. College Ave. in Ruskin. You may also make donations any date at the Sun City Center Chamber, 1651 Sun City Center Plaza, Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 4 PM, except Wednesday that is until Noon.

Dec. 7, 2011 the Resolution we assisted to recognize Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) to better control the Community Cat population was approved by Hills. Board of County Commissioners.

July / August 2011 issue of HSUS' Animal Sheltering national magazine featured our
fostering and socializing of kittens pulled from Community Cat colonies for adoption!

June 22, 2011 our Citizens' Initiative on Community Cats was unanimously passed by
the Hillsborough County Animal Advisory Committee!


January 9, 2011 we were recognized for the 9,000th cat spayed / neutered at ACT!

Low-Cost Spay / Neuter &

Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR)


When - 2nd Sunday of every month and other dates as arranged.  Reservations are required:  Info@SouthShoreFelines.org or 813-393-0844.  You may also borrow humane cat traps from us for SCAT (South Shore Cat Area TNR).

Where - Our SCAT check-in time is Saturday as arranged with your reservation or 6 AM on SCAT Sunday.  Leaves Sun City Center promptly at 6:15 AM on Sunday.  SCAT check-in location will be provided with your reservation.

Requirements - Cats and kittens must be in a humane cat trap, one per trap.  Kittens must be at least 2 lbs.  Cats may be pregnant, but not nursing.  Nothing to eat or drink after Midnight the day before surgery.  Please keep trap covered.  If you borrow our traps, we also loan covers.

South Shore Felines' purpose is to humanely reduce the population of Community Cats via education and TNR.  It is
not a shelter, and is not set up to accept or house cats for adoption.  There are three (3) shelters in Hillsborough
County and two (2) cat rescue groups in Hillsborough County set up to handle cat adoptions.  Please contact them.
